Goals
The mission of the Fish and Water Quality committee is to preserve and
protect Long Lake water quality, the quality of the fishery and the associated
habitat.
The committee works on water quality projects and maintaining or improving
fish habitat areas.
Accomplishments
 | Members of the committee take weekly Secchi measurements for water
quality and monthly water sample for chemistry studies including phosphorous
and chlorophyll, as well as water temperatures every 10 feet from surface to
bottom. This material goes into a database for future reference as well
as comparison with similar lakes in Wisconsin. |
 | The committee also applied for and received a grant for mapping and study
of phosphorous input into Long Lake's watershed (2001) — done by Nick Stadnyk
at Applied Data Systems. |
